QRZ Forums. I just put up a 5BTV m vertical antenna, ground mounted with radials. The manual says to loop a bunch of coax together, but I prefer something I can just connect. Any suggestions?

BALUN for Hustler 5BTV Vertical?

Vertical antenna | Back of Beyond
My Hustler 4-BTV is now complete. The antenna is fed with Belden and I formed a common mode choke at the base with a length of the feedline. This resolved the problem of some RF coming back into my shack as evidenced by the video of one of my monitors modulating with my transmission. Even though the DX Engineering radial plate is drilled for 60 radials I went with thirty 30 foot radials for now. They all are stapled in for winter, ready to blend into the grass come spring.

Exclusive trap design makes Hustler traps ultra stable and dependable. With Hustler verticals, you can not only adjust frequency by tubing length, you can actually tune the traps for up to 2MHz shift.

This is a common problem with an easy solution. RF energy traveling into your shack on the outside of the coax feed line causes this problem. The solution is adding an "ugly" Balun in the coax to choke off the RF energy before it enters your shack.
